Bootsfaces allows you to use both version of font awesome on the same page. Bootsfaces supports both font awesome 4 and font awesome 5. Font awesome 5 has a pro edition with 7842 icons, and a free edition with 1588 icons.
The icons are downloaded with the page as three separate.woff or.woff2 font files which include all 7,800+ fontawesome icons, even though the xenforo theme uses only ~262 of these icons.
